Why ANKAR

We are a family-run Polish medical transport company from Opole, specialised in bringing patients home to Poland since 2016. We are the carrier, not a broker: every transfer is done with our own vehicle and our own crew.

Clear arrangements

You (the family or the insurer) arrange the discharge and the patient’s readiness with the ward; we confirm the date and give the hospital our crew’s arrival time.

Vehicle matched to the patient

From a van for seated patients to a stretcher ambulance with monitoring, oxygen and – if needed – a ventilator.

Listed in the Polish register of healthcare providers (RPWDL 000000198229).

Frequently asked questions

How much does medical transport from France to Poland cost?

Typically PLN 10,000–30,000 (approx. €2,350–7,000) by ambulance. The pick-up city matters most – Strasbourg and Nice are very different routes – together with the patient’s condition.

How long does the transfer from France take?

From north-eastern France usually one day of driving with the patient; from the Alps and the south approx. 14–20 hours.

Does the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) cover transport to Poland?

No. The EHIC covers necessary treatment in the country where you are, but not the transport home to Poland. The cost is often covered by private travel insurance or an assistance company; otherwise the patient or family pays. We issue an invoice and transport documents for reimbursement.

Who arranges the discharge from hospital?

The family or the insurer arranges the discharge and the patient’s readiness with the ward. We confirm the date, give the hospital our crew’s arrival time and take over the patient directly from the ward.

Can a relative travel with the patient?

Usually yes – one person can travel in the ambulance if the patient’s condition allows. We confirm this when we quote.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Our dispatch speaks English and Polish, 24/7.
